My name is Christine, and I’m a mum of two – and the woman behind Homeborn.

I have felt in my own body how intense, beautiful, and transformative the journey to becoming a mother is. How filled that time is with questions, emotions, and physical changes. And how much it means to feel safe and supported all the way.

My first son was born at home in the living room - in a birthing pool filled with wonderfully soothing water. It was a safe and instinctive experience, where I truly felt the strength of being surrounded by love and calm. My second son was born in the hospital due to low amniotic fluid, but I tried to bring the same calm with me. I arranged the delivery room with my own duvets, lights, and music, so I felt as much at home as possible. 

Both births fortunately took place without complications, and the experiences have given me a deep respect for what the body and mind can do when you feel supported. 

But no births are the same. I know that many experience bumps along the way, shattered expectations, or land in motherhood in a way they never imagined. A birth and the time after is an experience that changes you for life. But the alpha and omega for the birthing woman is safety. Before, during, and after the birth.

Why Homeborn?

Homeborn are home birth experts, and we are the official distributor of both La Bassine and Saga Birth Pools birth pools. But we’re also here for you if you’re giving birth in hospital. A sense of safety has no fixed address. It should come with you in your bag, no matter where you give birth.
